No Crashes for Over a Week!

Posted By houkouonchi On: 2013-09-27 17:29:47

With my recent changes to the server code in an attempt to fix the random crashes the server would sometimes get (disconnecting everyone) I am happy to report that the server has now been up for 1 week, 6 hours without a crash. This is the longest its been up by far. This means far less random disconnects (which would happen every day or two before) and increased stability for the users on the server.

StepmaniaOnline.net 1 year Anniversary

Posted By houkouonchi On: 2013-09-20 19:41:42

Just wanted to post that today is stepmaniaonline.net's one year anniversary. The domain has been registered over a year but it was a few days before the server was running and people actually started playing. This day marks a year since I first got the SMO server setup and people could connect and play on it. I would say a lot has changed and been improved in that year =)

Happy anniversary SMO!

Stepmania Online T-Shirts
Several years ago in the days of smo.com there used to be smo t-shirts for sale. Only a handful were ever made so not many people own one. We will likely be bringing them back and would love to hear your input about whether or not you would like one and what size you would be interested in. With this information we can get a good estimate of the first batch we need to order.

Japanese Input (平仮名入力機能)

Posted By houkouonchi On: 2013-09-13 23:25:16

Japanese input has been enabled on the server by converting text written into the chatbox into hiragana. This probably doesn't mean much for most of you but it can be enabled with the /japanese command. It can be disabled by running the /japanese command again. It should behave similar to windows IME input. The examples/details were explained in the above post in Japanese.
