SMO's ingame /secret command doesn't work properly.

Apparently the SMO command "/secret" is not working properly. When you enter this command, it currently removes your room from the SMO.net room list, and prevents access to the web chat. However, it doesn't conceal your room from others actually playing the game, and they are allowed to join at will if you didn't set up a password.

This means that this command is effectively useless, and may cause confusion amongst it's users. Please look into this whenever you have time to!

What would be the point of preventing people from seeing the room through SMO.net but not in game? I cannot think of any practical reasoning for why you would want that.

The reason why you'd want to prevent people from seeing your room in game is to kill off room clutter. If all you want to do is play by yourself or test something, not having your room listed keeps the lobby free of crap people can't even enter. It might not matter much with only a couple of people on, but if there was like 15 or 20 rooms and half of them were not join-able it'd get rather annoying.

Yeah, thats by design. On the website people can watch what songs you play and your chats. Secret just prevents that.

Really? I've been pretty lucky then with the lack of joiners when I didn't put a password, and I am surprised no one ever bothered to correct me when I was recommending /secret to people to reduce room clutter. Seems like a pretty useless feature, especially considering that song data is archived in great detail.

Unless you're StepMania RP got a little too steamy for the public eye I guess...

Well, now with the webchat basically anyone can come on your chat and say hi. So this would prevent that from occurring.
