Hello smo, feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself here. What brought you to stepmania/smo or music games in general?

I'm Izzy and I've been playing stepmania since 2001. I quit back in 2008 and only recently started playing again because of smo.net. I used to be a moderator over at smo.com and have always loved smo. So here we are trying to bring back the community so I hope you guys stick around.

Note: Please don't confuse me with the Swedish Izzy that goes by Izzysm.

Hi, I'm Angelo, and I'm the creator of OpenSMO (the software this server runs on).

I'm not the best SM player, but I like to think of myself as close-to-avarage

I started playing back in 2005 or so, but had a long break until 2010. Then I met someone on college who has the exact same name as me (Angelo) and he also played Stepmania! That has got me back into the game. We played a lot of SMO after that.

Just months before SMO.com went down, I started working on OpenSMO as a mini sideproject, mainly as a project to see if I could do it. And now I'm here!

I'm 19, currently employed as an international exchange student in Croatia. (I originally live in The Netherlands)

Hi all, Thumbsy here, I too am an admin over at vocamania.net :p
18 years, from the Netherlands, have been playing StepMania and dancing games in general for about two years now, playing on pad exclusively.
Originally started playing StepMania to get better at the real DDR (arcade) games, but nowadays I'm playing custom files more than I do official DDR ones :]

I really loved SMO for logging all my stats neatly, that and the ability to play with others of course.
But it was especially the statlogging that made SMO so attractive for me.
So that's why I joined here, and will make this my default (and probably only) server to play SMO :p
I hope that one day this server/website will reach all the functionality and goodness the original server had, and continue to grow beyond that!
I wish the server owners/admins/devs good luck!

I'm decent I guess, but trying to improve. Going for first, but god damn Cudi is no living the shit out of this game(jealous, not downtalking)

Allo~ I'm Mezz. I'm 24, and from the land of maple syrup and igloos. I was really into DDR when I was in highschool, and remember thinking one day, 'gee, it would be nice if there were an online version of this.' I found SMO thanks to a friend, and I played pretty well every day from 2005-2007. (I went by the name 'miissa' then.) I stopped playing until 2010, and just as I came back, the site went down, so I stopped again. I started back up in April this year, and was sad to see that everything was gone. I'm really enjoying the set up of this site and server, so I hope smo.net doesn't go anywhere!

In terms of skill level... I still have a long ways to go. I admit, I'm a bit intimidated by the song stats I'm seeing. >.>
I'm usually playing easier keyboard songs, but I'll attempt harder stuff. I always welcome company; rooms are more fun with random discussions.

Hello, i'm Tenshi or my real name is Dika from Indonesia. I'm 15 years old (high school student)
Firstly i'm playing guitar hero from 2009, then i stop playing and move to stepmania/itg since 2011 until now. Sometimes i'm struggle to FFR and making some simfiles at sm/itg but now i was too lazy to do it because there are too many tasks and exams.
I found SMOnline at Christmas Day 2011 by myself.
In SMOnline, i didn't just make the skills better, but have to communicate with people around the world.

Hi everyone! I'm Ishtaracoon, French Player of stepmania since January 2012, I'm sixteen (student, like Tenshi). Before I get on Stepmania, I played a lot of games on browsers, all related more or less directly with the music, then enjoy the game and post videos of many of my scores on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/Ishtaracoon) I found SMO there's ten minutes thanks to one of my friends, and I intend to assist in bringing the French community Stepmania here!

Hello there folks,my name is Pete.
At the moment,learning aviation,graphic design thingies and some languages.I like to eat oriental food,watch/read about asia and especially about japanese culture,listen to dance/trance/ambient music,hangin out with friends and to play both rythm and console games.

Started playing stepmania around early 2010 but it wasnt so serious playing as i started around January 2011.
Been posting on SMO.eu,OtakusDream.com and currently at Vocamania.net.
Also tried some FFR but i dropped it in the end.
Currently stepping for packs,doing my own pack and handling some gfx jobs at vocamania.

I would love to see this community and site flourishing and eventually,be something more than smo.com and smo.eu both merged.
I really like the current scoring system and song selection mechanism.

Hope we can play in future some stepmania!
