SMO and Twitch integration?

Postby JunkoXXX » Tue Mar 31, 2015 1:22 pm

Owen and I were thinking of making and SMO Twitch group. Which involves integration with Twitch and SMO for update able ranks like in the SMO room on the site. Also, request manager plugin whenever someone puts a request then the bot makes it as a message on the smo room chat then if your in a group of people you can use the command /requests to look at your requests. Sounds like a lot, but its good in the long run.
Take Care Junko.

That's some pretty great forum etiquette you got there.

I got good etiquette but no one wants to respond.

Oh okay, thank you. So, its a common thing that people stream games (including stepmania) and other people watch them and chat and chat together? That seems odd, but mkay.

Still don't see how the integration would work exactly. After rereading the OP I am more confused.

I'm not familiar enough to understand what he is saying. I'm a casual streamer/watcher, but I don't know if twitch has the features he is suggesting. If you haven't really done anything with twitch before, I'd recommend checking it out. It is definitely a bigger deal than you'd expect. The service was just bought by Amazon for 1 billion dollars and it is in the top 100 sites by traffic worldwide. The only thing I could think of integrating is the chat though, but that is almost entirely unnecessary since people generally stream non-online stepmania.

What i meant is that is it possible to integrate twitch with the smo chat. For example if someone requests a song in the twitch chat the song is automatically selected on the song wheel. I think for this you can talk to the creators of mikuia(a bot). I think they can pull strings to make this game more populer.

I don't really understand the purpose of such a thing. That seems more like a gimmick than an actually useful feature. The player is going to be in the room anyway and can just select the song themselves.
